FIFA RANKINGS: Super Eagles fail to improve after woeful November window

The Super Eagles have remained static as the 40th best team in the world and sixth in Africa after a woeful start to their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.

The Eagles forced both lowly-rated Lesotho and Zimbabwe to 1-1 draws in the month under review and so they remain stagnant in the ratings by world football governing body.

Coach Jose Peseiro has come under heavy fire as a result of these results.

Hosts of the 2023 AFCON Cote d’Ivoire, who are drawn against Nigeria in the first round of the continental tournament in January, are now ninth best team in Africa.

World Cup semifinalists Morocco remain the top African team as well as 13th best in the world, while AFCON champions Senegal are second and ranked 20th globally.
