"Manual inscription On Player's Jersey was just a mistake ", Enyimba gives explanation.

Reigning Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions Enyimba, have provided explanation as to why player Gabriel had a poor printing on his jersey against Wydad Casablanca.

Sunday night in an African Football League AFL, fixture against Wydad Casablanca in Uyo, Enyimba defender Gabriel Innocent appeared to be wearing a poorly printed jersey. In a picture that surfaced online Sunday, night, the defender was spotted wearing a jersey with inscription Innocent poorly written.

The picture raised a lot of questions, as fans of the club called out Chairman Kanu Nwankwo, asking for explanation as to what happened.

However, sources on Monday said Enyimba’s secretary had mad a mistake in the player’s number. According to NPFL photojournalist, Adepoju Tobi Samuel, Enyimba had found out about the error minutes before the game.

Enyimba provide explanation to its player’s poor jersey inscription

“During the registration with CAF, he(Innocent) was registered as number 3 jersey instead of number 5. It was a costly error from the team secretary.

They found out when the match was about to start, and there was no way CAF would allow him to play with the number he wasn’t registered with.” read a tweet by Mr. Tobi and quoted by Soccernet Nigeria.

We also gathered, that CAF had given the NPFL champions, a go-ahead to get a brand new shirt and inscribe, the player’s name and correct number; hence the reason for the manual inscription and poor writing.
