Tijani back in action after one year out injured

Nigerian midfielder, Samson Tijani started light personal training at his Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg after being sidelined for almost a year following a career-threatening injury few months ago. The Hard tackling 20-year old came on as a substitute against Inter milan in 4: 3 friendly loss.

The former Golden Eaglet captain suffered a broken tibia and fibula whilst in action for Red Bull Salzburg in a friendly against Feyenoord Rotterdam, in July 2022.

After assessment, Red Bull Salzburg confirmed that the injury was more serious than expected and the 20-year-old midfielder was ruled out of action for a long term after undergoing surgery.

Returning to the pitch after more than one year out of action, delighted Tijani took to his official social media to share his immeasurable joy.

Tijani missed the Nigeria Under 23 olympic qualifier when he was out of action last year and he is expected to be considered for AFCON preliminary squad if he put in a strong performance for his club. Red Bull Salzburg will be competing in this year's European champions league. Teenage midfielder, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro didn't feature for Inter Milan because he was out injured.
